MES connection: interfaces / communication

Brief description

A mold system should communicate with the master computer and the upstream and downstream stations.

Target

A mold system that can only communicate via the SECS / GEM protocol is to be integrated into the line concept. Processing requests and process results must be sent to the MES via XML in order to avoid processing faulty products and to guarantee traceability.

Solution

By developing communication software, processing requests from the mold system can be recognized via the SECS / GEM protocol. These are supplemented with information from the upstream station (read out via the OPC DA interface) and sent to the master computer via XML. After a product has been processed, process information such as transfer time, clamping force and transfer graph (pressure over time) are sent via SECS / GEM to the communication software, which processes the data and forwards it to the master computer.
